Beer of the Week: Vitamin Sea Due West

Had a delivery of some great stuff as a housewarming gift. The highlight: Vitamin Sea Due West
Description: The brewery's description doesn't give you much, just tells you the hops. The flavor is underripe fruit, which I like a lot, but isn't for everyone. It worked very nicely with the donuts because it wasn't super sweet, so it balanced them nicely.
What you should know: Vitamin Sea is on-site only for sales, so you'll have to take a trip to Weymouth, MA to get this stuff. They're only open a few days a week.
Recommendations: Check to make sure the brewery is open when you're around, and may a trip to Weymouth. Stop in Barrel House Z while you're there, and if you're feeling adventurous, Article XV is down the road.

Beer of the Week: Remnant Deseja

Had a bunch this week, mostly from the same brewery. Fortunately, they're great. The best of the bunch: Remnant Deseja.
Description: Billed as a sour aged on red wine barrels, this comes off more like a complex funky saison than it does a sour. Funky plus fruity and earthy notes from the red wine make this a well-rounded delicious beer that stands up to hearty food (like buffalo chicken pizza).
What you should know: I just moved near this brewery, and everything I've had from them so far has been excellent, so expect more of these.
Recommendations: Remant started distributing during the pandemic, so you can get it in the Boston area, but the brewery is also worth a trip.

Beer of the Week: Tired Hands Milkshake IPA (Orange Creamsicle)

Only had a couple new ones this week. Fortunately, that wasn't due to lack of options, just due to my parents gifting a large supply from Tired Hands. The best: Tired Hands Milkshake IPA: Orange Creamsicle.
Description: It's exactly what the name implies. Tastes like an orange creamsicle. Super creamy texture due to oats/lactose, and orange and vanilla flavor from conditioning on (you guessed it) orange and vanilla.
What you should know: I've now had 3 of the Milkshake IPA series from Tired Hands, and 2 have made it to beer of the week (see the other).
Recommendations: If you're ever in Philly (they have some distribution downtown) or on the Main Line, try to find yourself some Tired Hands. You'll probably have to wait in line, but it's worth it.

Beer of the Week: Bell's Flamingo Fruit Fight

Although this isn't necessarily the best beer I had this week, I feel the need to highlight Bell's Flamingo Fruit Fight as this weeks' Beer of the Week.
Description: Slightly fruity and slightly tart. A nice balance of the tartness of the lime and the tropical fruitiness of passion fruit. Super drinkable.
What you should know: I had pretty low hopes for this, but I was craving a light sour/fruity beer, and this was the only option in the store. I was very pleasantly surprised to find that this beer is actually pretty damn good. It's also a lot cheaper than your standard craft beer.
Recommendations: Grab a 6-pack of these and feel free to drink at any time of day. You'll get a little more flavor out of it if you pour it into a glass, but it's also a great beer to drink out of the can while you work the grill with your other hand.

Decided to introduce a new category to the site this week because I had some great seltzers, but nothing compares to the beer: Grimm Telekinesis.
Description: Medium sour, super light body, and a tiny hint of hops. Enough flavor to sip and enjoy out of the glass, and not too much to prevent you from just crushing these directly out of the can if you so choose.
What you should know: I typed out "Telekinesis" 6 times today, and I spelled it right 5 of the 6 times. Pretty pretty pretty pretty good.
Recommendations: Grimm's available throughout most of the northeast, so you should be able to find this. Grab 4 and drink them on a patio/balcony/deck.
