Vitamin Sea Brewing

Weymouth, MA
Pete - I went here Saturday 4/20/19, about 2 months after they opened. As of now, they're only open 12-8 on Saturdays, and they don't distribute. At the brewery, expect 5-6 draft options and 1 to-go can option. They have board games, a super nice taproom, and a huge outdoor space that makes it seem it'll be awesome in the summer. I went almost at close, so they only had 3 on tap options left, but they did still have the cans. It's got a cult following right now. Unfortunately, it's not easy to get to, so you'll probably need to drive home. It is also next door to Barrel House Z.

New England IPA - 7.8% ABV

Great name for a beer with Australian hops. The beer has a super light body and tons of juicy citrus flavor. Dangerous.

Vitamin Sea Baby Waves
Session IPA - 5.2% ABV
Pete
The can claims 5.2%, though there may have been an older version that was 4.2 (what untappd claims). Pretty light tasting going down, but finishes with a nice burst of hops and a lemony flavor that lingers well after you put it down. Super summery, great beer.

Vitamin Sea Beachfire Stories
Stout - 5.3% ABV
Pete
Very tasty and very sweet. Chocolate, peanut butter, and vanilla are all there, in that order. It's quite sweet, but a hint of smokiness balances this a little. I wouldn't want more than 1 of these, but drinking a full pint is definitely worth it.

Vitamin Sea Blueberry Pancake: Sour Pipe Project
Sour - 6% ABV
Pete
This definitely hits blueberry pancakes, at least the way I eat them: loaded with syrup. There's a tiny hint of blueberry and tons of maple. If you think you'll like blueberry pancakes in a glass, I'd go for it.

Vitamin Sea Coconut Pineapple Dream: Sour Pipe Project
Sour - 6% ABV
Pete
Lots of coconut and tart pineapple. I don't usually like coconut beers (stouts excluded), but this I really liked. It's like a tropical cocktail, and the tartness really balances it.

Vitamin Sea DDH Kettle Charge
New England IPA - 6.8% ABV

This looks about as good as a beer can look. It didn't taste quite as good as it looks, but it's still pretty darn good. Dry citrus flavors.

Vitamin Sea Double Spring
Imperial New England IPA - 8% ABV
     Pete
Crisp, a hint of creaminess, and that under ripe citrus flavor that keeps you coming back for more. Damn good beer.

Vitamin Sea Double Summer
Imperial New England IPA - 8.2% ABV
Pete
A little creamy, and a huge explosion of grassy flavor. Probably the most 'grassy' beer I've ever had. Really delicious and summery.

Vitamin Sea Duckie Sauce
New England Pale Ale - 6% ABV
Pete
Super creamy and super fruity with a touch of dank to balance it. This is an incredible beer. I'd expect it to have 8% ABV given how much flavor it has, but it's much more crushable.

Vitamin Sea Due West
New England IPA - 6% ABV

I absolutely love this. It has a distinct underripe fruit flavor that not everyone will appreciate (which I get), but I sure do.

Vitamin Sea Elusive
New England IPA - 6.8% ABV

Super creamy, mellow citrus. Lots of flavor but still drinkable. Great beer.

Vitamin Sea F.Q.A.s
Imperial New England IPA - 8% ABV

Collaboration with Other Half. Unreal beer, as expected with a collab between these two breweries. Creamy texture with a dank, peppery flavor. Not a ton of citrus, but I'm perfectly fine with that.

Vitamin Sea Five Deadly Venoms
New England IPA - 6% ABV
Pete
Light body, which is surprising in the style. It has some nice earthiness, but it also has an off, peanut butter-y flavor that doesn't work for me.

Vitamin Sea Just Another T-Shirt Shop
New England IPA - 6.8% ABV
Pete
Exactly what you expect from a NEIPA. Super hazy, a little creamy, tons of citrus. Maybe a bit more grapefruit in this one, so it comes off a touch bitter too.

Vitamin Sea Mango Marshmallow Popsicle: Sour Pipe Project
Berliner Weisse - 6% ABV
Pete
Not sure how I feel about this. It's as advertised for sure. Sour and marshmallow, with some mango in there. I just don't know if sour and marshmallow belong together.

Vitamin Sea Mind Surfing
New England IPA - 7% ABV
Pete
Very creamy. Pretty citrusy too and a little peppery. Also maybe a hint of coconut in there? Not enough to be off-putting, but just a subtle addition to remind you this is supposed to be tropical.

Vitamin Sea Ramble & Roam Strata
Session IPA - 4.2% ABV
Pete
This is very unique. It's got a ton of flavor for this alcohol level. Quite earthy, presumably from the Strata, and I like it a lot.

Vitamin Sea Ramble And Roam With Lime Zest
Session IPA - 4.2% ABV
Pete
Really crushable refreshing beer. This will kill in the summer outside at the taproom. Mellow IPA flavors with a huge blast of lime in the finish.

Vitamin Sea Seas And Trees
Imperial New England IPA - 8% ABV

Collaboration with Deciduous. This wants to be good, but it's just so creamy that none of the other flavors can punch through. Because of that, it's just OK

Vitamin Sea Seven-Day Weekend
Imperial New England IPA - 8.2% ABV

Collaboration with Mast Landing (I actually bought this at Mast Landing). Not exactly what you'd expect given the style. It's super hazy, as expected, but not much creaminess in the texture. It's lemony and finishes quite dry, making you come back for more. Somehow crisp and easy to drink at 8.2% alcohol.

Vitamin Sea Think Or Swim
Imperial Milk Stout - 8.4% ABV
Pete
Super roasty stout that finishes dry with a ton of bitter chocolate. Not what I was expecting from the description, but I was happier with that. Excellent beer that's pretty easy to drink, especially for its style and alcohol level. Pictured on the left (I hope you realized that based on style).

Vitamin Sea Triple Summer
Imperial New England IPA - 10.2% ABV

My friends liked this a lot more than I did. This came off as quite boozy for me, not quite enough citrus to overpower that feeling.

Picture
Vitamin Sea Tropical Envy
Imperial New England IPA - 10% ABV
Pete
Pretty creamy, and a little too sweet. Just doesn't work for me, just like most IPA's this strong.

Vitamin Sea Two Tickets To Pellet Ice
Imperial New England IPA - 8% ABV

Collaboration with Equilibrium. I was warned at the brewery that this was blue (due to algae) and pretty darn coconut-y. It certainly lived up to that, and I certainly did not like it.

Vitamin Sea Who Moved My Cones?!

Super creamy and tastes like lime and coconut. Definitely unique. It's not my favorite, but it's worth trying.
