Beer of the Week: Hudson Valley Straylight

Drank a lot of beers this week with no shortage of great ones. The best: Hudson Valley Straylight
Description: Listed as a sour IPA, it's way more sour than it is IPA. It has a creaminess to it much like you'd expect from a NEIPA, but the flavors are pure sour. Blueberry and lemon both come through nicely, and it's quite tart as both of those fruits are tart. Not bracing though, so quite good.
What you should know: I had to decide between 2 different Hudson Valley beers for the best of the week. I get these anytime I see them now.
Recommendations: If you see something from Hudson Valley on the shelf, grab it before someone else does.

Got a bunch of singles this past weekend and also made a stop at Trillium, so I'll have tons of options the next couple weeks. The best this time: Trillium Bianca Guava Mango Lassi Gose
Description: This is a fruit beer, not a sour like it's billed, but boy is it good. It's hard to pick better fruits than guava and mango, and the beer has tons of vanilla flavor also, which makes sense with the flecks of vanilla suspended in the beer.
What you should know: This is a dessert. Quite sweet, so just be prepared for that.
Recommendations: Proudly drink a fruity beer this weekend. Call it a sour if you feel the need to justify it, but you shouldn't need to; they're delicious, and that should be enough justification.

Beer of the Week: Tired Hands DDH Grassman: Citra & Nelson

From my trip to PA, I still had some left to try. No surprise that Tired Hands is making another appearanace here (their 7th BotW): Tired Hands DDH Grassman: Citra & Nelson
Description: Like the original, the dominant flavor is grassy. This has more of a lemony quality to it. It has the same creaminess going down, but it finishes a little drier than the original, which I like. I didn't get the sweetness from the honey quite as much, but it is definitely necessary to temper all that dankness from the extra Nelson, and I'm sure this would be noticeably less balanced without it.
What you should know: Basically, Tired Hands gets at least one beer of the week each time I go. It's partially because that's all I drink for the week, but they sure make some great beers.
Recommendations: Have a New England IPA this weekend. It's spring, and it's snowing in New England, so people need to be reminded about the good things that happen there.

Took a trip to PA this past week, so I mixed it up with some different breweries. The best: Evil Genius It Is Our Birthday.
Description: Great beer, better name. Vanilla dessert-y brown with a light body.
What you should know: I could drink a bunch of these, especially alternating with an IPA.
Recommendations: Pick your next beer based on the name and label, not based on brewery and style.
