I've been preparing for a move, so I've been limiting my beer buying recently. Fortunatly, that hasn't stopped me from finding some great stuff, like Sloop Pixie Dust NEIPA.
Description: Lower alcohol and a lighter body that most beers of this style, but just as much flavor. Really bright and citrusy, making you want to drink it when it's still light out (see picture), and then keep drinking it when the sun goes down.
What you should know: I haven't seen Sloop around all that much, but they exist in Boston. If you live in New York, you can get it delivered to you.
Recommendations: I've had a couple Sloop's now, and they've all been good, and all very easy to drink. If you're looking for something to drink that won't bog you down, seek them out.

Beer of the Week: Trillium Dialed-In w/Moscato Juice

With outdoor dining re-opening in MA, I was able to actually go and sit at a brewery patio this past weekend. Trillium started taking reservations for the day at 9am, so I set an alarm, and booked a slot (by 9:01 my preferred time was already gone so I had to pick another). No surprise that the best beer I had all week was from that trip: Trillium Dialed-In w/Moscato Juice.
Description: Not what I was expecting at all. It's dry, dank, and peppery, with a pretty light body. There's some subtle fruitiness in the background to balance it quite well, though I wouldn't pinpoint grape (let alone Moscato specifically).
What you should know: Don't let Moscato scare you away. That wine is sweet. This beer is not. Also, Trillium's Fenway location is also opening this weekend. No word yet on when beer gardens will be allowed, or how much they'll have to change their setup to accommodate social distancing restrictions when they do open.
Recommendations: Stay safe. Breweries are starting to open, and Trillium does a great job keeping people far enough apart and cleaning between groups, so it's a perfect place to go if you're getting stir crazy. You can order from your phone at the table. Definitely set an alarm and be ready to make a reservation exactly at 9am though.

Beer of the Week: Remnant Clip Art

Got a busy rest of the week coming up, and I wanted to make sure I got this in. Best beer I had this week: Remnant Clip Art IPA.
Description: Great rendition of a New England IPA. No bitterness, as you'd expect. The citrus leans more towards lemon than your typical tropical flavors, but I like that. It has a little creaminess, but the lemon gives it a dry crispness that makes it really easy to drink.
What you should know: This brewery just turned 2, and I've been very impressed so far. I hope they keep improving and pumping out great new beers.
Recommendations: If you find yourself in the Boston area, you should be able to find stuff from this brewery. As of now, they're doing some local delivery, and allowing on-site pickup. I've also gotten cans from them in 2 different local beer stores. Check their Instagram for updates.

Beer of the Week: Cascade Blackcap Raspberry

I don't want to jinx it, but this is 12 weeks in a row. I know I'm going to be pretty busy next week, but I'll see if I can keep the streak going. Made it through my stock, and felt the need to acquire more just to be safe. Good thing I did, as I ran out anyway. The best of the bunch was part of the extra stuff I bought: Cascade Blackcap Raspberry.
Description: Smells like it's going to be super sour, and it has an obvious fruitiness in the aroma, though you wouldn't be able to pinpoint raspberry. The raspberry definitely comes through in the flavor, which seems to go back and forth between ultra tart raspberry and just pure puckering sour, both with a little earthiness in the background from the oak aging.
What you should know: Cascade makes incredible barrel-aged sours. This was actually the first time I had seen one in a store; my only previous experience with Cascade was on tap. Good thing I tested out a new store this weekend.  This is my 8th Cascade beer, and all of them have been 6 Shyoh's. That's some serious consistency.
Recommendations: Ignore the relative simplicity of the labeling, and expect incredibly complex flavors to come out of anything from this brewery.
