Part of the reason why this is so high on my list is that it is widely available at bars. If you order one of these, the bartender immediately knows that you are a lover of good beer. It has some of the best flavors that hops can provide, and it isn't too bitter either. It is a perfect gateway beer into the world of IPA's.

The other reason why I had to include this one on my list is that it is my go-to beer if I need to grab a last-minute 6-pack and don't have time to decide. It is widely available, and a 6-pack has plenty of alcohol to get you going.
Dogfish head is known for making beers that are "off center", but this one is pretty close to the center of exactly how I want an IPA to taste
