Trillium Brewing Company

Boston, MA (This is page 3. See pages 1 and 2)

Picture
Trillium Pipsqueak Penguin
Pale Ale - 4.9% ABV
Pete
Had this at the brewery. It was my 6th beer of the day there, and a bunch of those were big stouts, so the alcohol percentage was good for me. It's citrusy, not a ton of flavor, but what's there is very good. Definitely recommend having this without food to avoid overwhelming it.

Trillium Pittsburgh Street
IPA - 7.2% ABV
Pete
Incredible IPA. Creamy and citrusy with a not-so-subtle peppery-ness that I really enjoyed. Stood out at a beer fest with quite a few great offerings.

Picture
Trillium Plum Super Soak
Sour - 7.1% ABV
Pete
Incredible sour. Super tart and the plum is definitely noticeable in the finish with maybe a hint of saltiness.

Picture
Trillium PM Dawn
Imperial Stout - 9% ABV
Pete
Delicious. Chocolatey mostly with some subtly spicy coffee flavor. It's super sweet, and maybe a tiny more bitterness would make it perfect.

Picture
Trillium PM Dawn - Peanut Butter
Imperial Milk Stout - 10.1% ABV
Pete
A bit too sweet for me, but it hides the booze well and definitely tastes like peanut butter.

Picture
Trillium PM Dawn - Vanilla
Imperial Milk Stout - 9% ABV
Pete
Tons of vanilla and chocolate, and isn't too sweet, which many milk stouts can be. Really hard to find anything wrong with this baby.

Picture
Trillium Pom Pom
Milk Stout - 6.8% ABV
Pete
Pretty sweet going down, but it's balanced in the finish by dark chocolate and some subtle fruit flavors. Damn good well-rounded stout. Perfect for those who don't love coffee flavors in their stouts.

Picture
Trillium Pot & Kettle
Porter - 7.5% ABV
Pete
Oatmeal porter with coffee sounds great to me, and this lived up to what I was hoping for. A ton of coffee flavor and a little peppery, awesome.

Picture
Trillium Pot & Kettle w/Chocolate
Porter - 7.5% ABV
Pete
Some good chocolate flavor, and even more vanilla. Wasn't described as a vanilla porter, but that's what it is really. I'm not complaining.

Picture
Trillium Raspberry Chocolate Gateau
Pastry Stout - 11% ABV
Pete
This beer is chocolate mousse with raspberry sauce in liquid form. It's not crazy sweet either, as it has some tartness from the raspberry. Glorious.

Trillium Resolution Break 2019
Imperial Stout - 13% ABV
Pete
As always with Trillium stouts, this one is pretty expensive ($23 for a 25oz bottle). Coffee, caramel/molasses, and chocolate rotate flavors for me drinking this, with a tiny bit of vanilla. It's sweet, but not crazy. Drinking a full glass is doable.

Picture
Trillium Scaled
IPA - 7% ABV
Pete
Super juicy with no bitterness and maybe a touch of creaminess. It's delicious, as I expected at this point (this was my 43rd offering from Trillium - 9/26/18).

Picture
Trillium Scaled Up
Imperial IPA - 8% ABV
Pete
Super juicy overripe fruit and a lot of creaminess going down, yet finishes fairly dry. So good.

Picture
Trillium Secret Stairs
Stout - 6.5% ABV
Pete
This is incredible. You get flavors of caramel and chocolate, as well as a hint of smokiness. It isn't too heavy, and drinks incredibly smooth.

Picture
Trillium South Pacific Soufflé
Imperial Stout - 12.1% ABV
Pete
Collaboration with Garage Project (haven't had any of their beers as of 8/16/19). Smell is big time vanilla and boozy. Flavor starts a little sweet with a tiny hint of coffee. The finish is intense bitter dark chocolate and the booze stays with you. This baby comes in 25.4oz bottles. Definitely find at least 2 friends to split it with. It's delicious, but the intensity makes it tough to get through much volume of this.

Trillium Spectacle Island
IPA - 6.8% ABV
Pete
Looks like juice. Doesn't smell like much, but the taste more than makes up for it. Extra ripe tropical fruit with no noticeable bitterness, and finishes a touch creamy.

Trillium Stillings Street
IPA - 7.2% ABV
Pete
This is a "juicy IPA", whatever that means. It's fruity and glorious. Not bitter at all. PG note - I don't know when I first had this, but it was apparently my first "juicy IPA", the best kind of IPA.

Picture
Trillium Storrowed
Imperial IPA - 8.4% ABV
Pete
Great beer, better name/label. Sweet and fruity, but also a little bitterness at the end to balance it. The dominant flavor is definitely mango, but this is more bitter than most of Trillium's others, but I still wouldn't call this a bitter IPA by any means.

Picture
Trillium Stumpy Duck
Pale Ale - 5.6% ABV
Pete
Smells citrusy. Mild citrus flavor with a tiny bit of pine. Incredibly easy to drink, this one was gone so fast. Great option if you want to have a bunch.

Picture
Trillium Sunshower - Amarillo Dry Hopped
Saison - 8.5% ABV
Pete
Solid beer. It's like a mix of light flavors from an IPA, saison, and tripel. My issue with it is that it's fairly mellow, and at 8.5%, you need much more flavor to avoid just tasting like alcohol.

Picture
Trillium Super Street Shark
Imperial New England IPA - 9% ABV
Pete
Collaboration with Bellwoods. It's awesome (shocker). Not as creamy as many Trillium IPA's, and it has a distinctive spicy character. That's nice to balance the sweetness from the high alcohol content, which definitely comes through, but only as a balance for the spiciness. Unreal.

Picture
Trillium Tiny Chicken
Pale Ale - 5.6% ABV
Pete
Smells like a citrus bomb. The taste is a bit more mild, crisp and citrusy with a higher than normal amount of carbonation, making the flavor disappear fairly quickly after putting it down. I drank this incredibly fast.

Picture
Trillium Trillwater
Gose - 6% ABV
Pete
This is a collaboration with Stillwater. Good gose. It's sour and salty, leaning more towards the sour side.

Ratings: Pete - 4 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Triple Seesaw Pineapple, Coconut, & Key Lime
Gose - 6% ABV
Pete
Pictured in the back. Surprisingly not all that sour. The key lime is very dominant, with a hint of pineapple. I didn't get any coconut at all, but I was happy about that.

Picture
Trillium Triple Seesaw Raspberry
Gose - 4.5% ABV
Pete
This is everything I was hoping for from this beer. It's super sour at first, and finishes with a ton of raspberry. It even has a little bit of a creamy texture to it, which was a nice surprise.

Picture
Trillium Twice the Daily Serving: Raspberry
Berliner Weisse - 7% ABV
Pete
This is so thick, it's like I went to a juice bar and got a raspberry smoothie. Definitely not complaining, as that delicious smoothie also has 7% alcohol. Dangerous.

Picture
Trillium Twin Bines
Imperial New England IPA - 8.4% ABV
Pete
I get some candied fruit flavor, but the hops in this are fairly mellow. Given the high ABV, it needed some more, as it came off a little bit sweet and fairly boozy. Still good.

Ratings: Pete - 4 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium UPPER CASE
Imperial IPA - 9% ABV
Pete
Incredibly flavorful IPA. Described as smelling and tasting like overripe tropical fruits, and that is exactly true. It's also described as having a "doughy" mouthfeel, which I totally agree with, but I'm not sure that's a good thing. The flavors are incredible, but the texture is a little odd for me. Still, awesome.

Picture
Trillium Vanilla Truffle
Imperial Stout - 12.7% ABV
Pete
My goodness. Vanilla is there, but not a crazy amount. Marshmallow flavor along with some toffee. A little bit boozy, but more of a 'warms your soul'  than 'punches you in the face' kind of way. It's just there to remind you that you'll feel good after this one (and shouldn't drive).

Trillium Vicinity
Imperial IPA - 8% ABV
Pete
incredible IPA. It looks like juice. Smells super citrusy, tastes a touch bitter on the way down, and finishes very fruity/citrusy. Also strong.
