Trillium Escape Plan
Sour - 7.8% ABV
Pete
Collaboration with Cellarmaker. This is just a tropical fruit smoothie. I refuse to believe it's a beer. Awesome.

Picture
Trillium Fated Farmer: Asian Pear
Wild Ale - 6.9% ABV
Pete
Pretty sour and maybe a little salty. It's got a very distinct fruity flavor that is nothing like any beer I'd ever had before (7/27/18), and I have to assume that's the Asian pear. It's different and delicious.

Ratings: Pete - 6 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Fated Farmer: Blackberry
Wild Ale - 7.4% ABV
Pete
Really sour with a mild blackberry flavor that's definitely there, just enough not to be entirely overpowered by the sourness. I like the sour, so this works for me.

Picture
Trillium Fated Farmer: Blueberry
Wild Ale - 6.3% ABV
Pete
Excellent pretty sour beer with some berry flavor. I couldn't specifically pinpoint blueberry, but that's fine with me. Love this.

Ratings: Pete - 6 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Fated Farmer: Concord Grape
Wild Ale - 7.1% ABV
Pete
Solid, funky beer, but definitely not my favorite of the series. A little too grape juice-y for me.

Ratings: Pete - 4 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Fated Farmer: Fruit Salad
Wild Ale - 7% ABV
Pete
Way more tart than fruity. Almost bracing sourness, which I loved, and my friend hated, so I got to have half of his. Win.

Ratings: Pete - 6 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Fated Farmer: Fruit Salad Batch 2
Wild Ale - 7% ABV
Pete
Super sour, a tiny salty edge, and plenty of fruit in the finish. Unreal.

Ratings: Pete - 6 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Fated Farmer: Malbec & Black Muscat
Imperial Wild Ale - 8% ABV
Pete
A little tart a little fruity and fairly oaky. Easy drinker at a dangerous ABV.

Ratings: Pete - 5 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Fated Farmer: Nectarine
Wild Ale - 6.6% ABV
Pete
Way fruitier than others of this series. Still pretty tart and a little funky, but the fruitiness is the dominant flavor here.

Ratings: Pete - 5 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Fated Farmer: Peach
Wild Ale - 6.1% ABV
Pete
A touch funky, pretty sour, and a little hint of fruit at the end to balance it. Really good.

Ratings: Pete - 5 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Fated Farmer: Pinot Noir
Wild Ale - 7.8% ABV
Pete
A really good sour that seems fairly generic (and delicious) until the VERY end, when you get hit in the face with pinot noir flavor. Incredible.

Ratings: Pete - 5 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Fated Farmer: Plum
Wild Ale - 6.9% ABV
Pete
I was expecting this to be a different color, but don't let that detract from the experience. The flavor was as I've come to expect from this series: pretty high on the sour scale, a little funky, and a little fruity. Exactly what I want.

Ratings: Pete - 6 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Fated Farmer: Pluot
Wild Ale - 7.4% ABV
Pete
Pretty sour and a tiny bit funky. Like all the others of this series, it's great, but I think the pluot is a tiny bit too subtle. It's there, but a little more fruit flavor would go a long way.

Ratings: Pete - 5 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Fated Farmer: Seyval Blanc
Wild Ale - 8.2% ABV
Pete
Quite sour at first, but highly carbonated, so that mellows it out a bit in the finish. A little hint of saltiness and really subtle fruit if you think about it. Excellent.

Ratings: Pete - 6 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium For the Sake of the Sea
American IPA - 7.1% ABV
Pete
Nice and creamy with some good tropical fruit flavors, but it comes off as coconut to me, a little too much. Apparently that's just from the Sabro hops, so I may have to avoid beers with those. Coconut should be reserved for stouts.

Ratings: Pete - 4 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Fort Point
Pale Ale - 6.6% ABV
Pete
Described as "our standard daily-drinker", and I can't really disagree. It's bright and citrusy but still fairly mellow. Super easy to drink, making me want like 8 of them. I had this later after a few others, and it's even better then.

Ratings: Pete - 5 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Fort Point - Mosaic Dry Hopped
Pale Ale - 6.6% ABV
Pete
A little creamy, but not overwhelming. The aroma and flavor is mostly dry piney-ness. Easy to drink, much like the original. Another great one.

Ratings: Pete - 5 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Fort Point - Nelson Dry Hopped
Pale Ale - 6.6% ABV
Pete
Awesome pale ale. Smells and tastes super citrusy, and finishes with a little dry peppery-ness, presumably from the Nelson hops.

Ratings: Pete - 5 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Fort Point - Strata Dry Hopped
Pale Ale - 6.6% ABV
Pete
"Generic" juiciness with a good amount of flavor for a relatively low ABV. You can easily forget you're drinking this one until it's time for another.

Ratings: Pete - 5 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Franklin Park
New England IPA - 7% ABV
Pete
Creamy, limey, and piney. This is amazing.

Ratings: Pete - 6 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Free Rise Citra Dry Hopped
Saison - 7.3% ABV
Pete
Very good beer. Nice spicy saison plus a little pop of hops at the end. Enough flavor to stand up to the Thai red curry dinner I had with it, which is saying something.

Ratings: Pete - 4 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Fuzz Effect
Imperial New England IPA - 8% ABV
Pete
This is the quality you expect from Trillium. It's super creamy, very orangey, a little bit sweet, and even a hint of bitterness. Damn good.

Ratings: Pete - 5 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Guide Post: Citra, Simcoe
IPA - 6.9% ABV
Pete
Pretty dank, light body with a slightly peppery finish. Very drinkable. Ni.ce ABV.

Ratings: Pete - 5 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Habitat: 2021 Port Barrel Aged
Wild Ale - 6.2% ABV
Pete
Excellent. Real funky and tart. Finishes smooth and the tartness lingers. A hint of fruitiness sneaks in there too, but this is a tart/funky beer at heart. No complaints here.

Ratings: Pete - 6 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Hatch Shell
New England IPA - 7.1% ABV
Pete
Great beer. Super tropical. Maybe a little coconut mixed in with the citrus, but not too much coconut.

Ratings: Pete - 5 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium HDHC All Citra Everything
Imperial New England IPA - 8.5% ABV
Pete
Pretty awesome beer. Super concentrated citrus flavor with a hint of dank to it too.

Ratings: Pete - 6 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium HDHC Hop Showers
New England IPA - 7.4% ABV
Pete
Collaboration with Other Half, and it tastes like one of theirs. It has an extreme hoppiness that's hard to describe and some dank flavors that I really like.

Ratings: Pete - 5 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Headlong
Imperial IPA - 8.3% ABV
Pete
Piney with some citrus flavor going down, finishing a bit malty. Really great balanced IPA, much different from the typical Trillium.

Ratings: Pete - 5 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Headroom
Imperial New England IPA - 8% ABV
Pete
I got this on release day 2020. Apparently this is popular, and I can see why, as I'm currently debating whether it should unseat Doubleganger as my favorite IPA. Papaya, peach, and orange flavors come through going down. It's creamy but not overwhelmingly so, and there's a hint of earthy/peppery flavors in the finish. Really complex delicious beer that is outrageously drinkable.

Ratings: Pete - 7 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Heavy Mettle
Imperial IPA - 9.3% ABV
Pete
A bit different than expected based on the color. It's got a piney aroma, and is quite bitter, but not too bitter to make it undrinkable.

Ratings: Pete - 4 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Henbit
Wild Ale - 8% ABV
Pete
This is very different from any beers I've had. Super earthy and herbaceous. A little funky too. I love it, but not everyone will.

Ratings: Pete - 6 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Hollow Heart
Imperial Stout - 11.3% ABV
Pete
This is so, so good. It's just milk chocolate in a glass.

Ratings: Pete - 6 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Itty-Bitty Goose
American Pale Ale - 5% ABV
Pete
Very flavorful. A good citrus background, and this came off as ultra-creamy to me. It wasn't described that way, but I thought it was, almost to a fault. Still a great beer.

Ratings: Pete - 5 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium La Rien A Nuit
Imperial Stout - 12.4% ABV
Pete
Heavy on the toffee, yet not sweet. Maybe a little smokey too? Quite good.

Ratings: Pete - 5 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Launch Beer
Pale Ale - 5.7% ABV
Pete
Delicious, crush-able beer. Strong mango and pineapple flavors in there but a crisp finish means it goes down extremely fast.

Ratings: Pete - 6 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Level Playing Field 2020: Daily Serving
Berliner Weisse - 3.9% ABV
Pete
Blackberry, ginger, and lemon. It's a little fruity, sour, and salty, with a very strong spicy ginger flavor. I think the ginger is a little bit too much, but it's still a great, refreshing beer.

Ratings: Pete - 5 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Lineage Spelt w/Cucumber and Pear
Sour Saison - 7.3% ABV
Pete
Cucumber water meets sour beer. I don't know how, but it really works.

Ratings: Pete - 5 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Little Rooster
Pale Ale - 5.8% ABV
Pete
Super peppery/zesty. Excellent beer with a ton of flavor especially given its relatively low ABV.

Ratings: Pete - 6 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Long Life: Apricot
Wild Ale - 8.8% ABV
Pete
Funky, very oaky, quite tart, a little fruitiness, and loads of bubbles. A lot going on, and it really, really works.

Ratings: Pete - 6 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Lovells Island
IPA - 6.8% ABV
Pete
A little bit of creaminess, with flavor dominated by fruitiness, maybe a touch underripe too, making it not overpowering with its sweetness. Really good.

Ratings: Pete - 5 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Marblehead Lighthouse
Imperial IPA - 8.9% ABV
Pete
Unreal IPA. Orange and a hint of lime going down with some creaminess, finishing with some grapefruit and citrus rind to balance the fruit.

Ratings: Pete - 6 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Max Headroom
Imperial New England IPA - 9.1% ABV
Pete
Similar flavor to Headroom (which is unreal, so that's good). It's a tiny bit creamier and sweeter, which dulls the citrus flavors a bit. It's still an amazing beer, just not quite as good as the original. Oh, and don't drink this with food, let it stand on its own.

Ratings: Pete - 6 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Melcher Street
IPA - 7.2% ABV
Pete
Outstanding IPA with a little creaminess (on the low side for Trillium), good citrus flavors, and a decent amount of dank to it.

Ratings: Pete - 5 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Mettle
Imperial IPA - 8.4% ABV
Pete
Incredible balanced beer. A hint of creaminess, a touch of bitter, good amount of pine, and then a blast of citrus in the finish. Love it.

Ratings: Pete - 6 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Mini Mallard
New England Pale Ale - 5.2% ABV
Pete
Super, super zesty. There's a ton of flavor in this beer, especially for this ABV.

Ratings: Pete - 5 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Mosaic Double Dry Hopped Fort Point
New England Pale Ale - 6.6% ABV
Pete
Super dry. The flavor is a nice balance of citrus and earthiness, but the dry-ness was a bit overwhelming. I liked the plain Mosaic dry-hopped version a little bit more.

Ratings: Pete - 5 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Night & Day
Imperial Stout - 11.5% ABV
Pete
Really tough to top this one. You don't really get the booziness, just deep rich chocolate and tons of coffee along with some peppery notes.

Ratings: Pete - 6 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Night & Day: Toasted Almond & Vanilla
Imperial Stout - 12.7% ABV
Pete
Super obviously nutty and vanilla-y. It's an incredible beer, and hides the booze super well. I'm nitpicking here, but I'd prefer a touch less sweet.

Ratings: Pete - 5 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Night & Day: Vanilla, Cacao, and Chili
Imperial Stout - 12.7% ABV
Pete
All the flavors of a delicious, complex stout going down. Dominated by pepper in the finish. It's hot, but tolerable. I should note that this caused issues with my intestines, but I'd do it again.

Ratings: Pete - 5 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Oenobier: Chardonnay
Wild Ale - 11% ABV
Pete
Collaboration with Monkish (haven't had any of those as of 6/3/19). This is pretty funky, and I don't think the Chardonnay is the right complement to that. Not my favorite.

Ratings: Pete - 3 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Olmsted
New England IPA - 7% ABV
Pete
Slightly dank, with a dry, peppery finish. It's delicious, and incredibly drinkable. I love this.

Ratings: Pete - 6 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Past Present Pretzel
Imperial IPA - 7.5% ABV
Pete
Awesome beer. Smell is super citrusy, with a hint of lemon. The taste echoes the smell, with some melon notes to it as well. Obviously I had to have it with pretzels, but this would be great with or without food.

Ratings: Pete - 6 Shyoh's

Trillium Peach Super Soak
Sour - 7.1% ABV
Pete
Puckering-ly sour, but also fruity. Awesome sour.

Ratings: Pete - 6 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Peanut Butter Bite
Pastry Stout - 6.5% ABV
Pete
Literally tastes like a Reese's Cup. That means it's on the sweet side, but I don't care.

Ratings: Pete - 6 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Permutation Series #28
Wild Ale - 6.3% ABV
Pete
Rich fruitiness to this that's damn good. Definitely raspberry, with something I can't pinpoint that makes it a deeper, richer flavor, all to go along with a pretty strong tartness. Awesome beer.

Ratings: Pete - 6 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Permutation Series #49
Imperial IPA - 8.3% ABV
Pete
Great IPA. Citrusy and creamy. It leans way more to the creamy side than most, almost like a stout, which took focus away from some of the IPA goodness, but it's still a great beer.

Ratings: Pete - 5 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Permutation Series #54
Blonde - 4.4% ABV

Tastes like a macro light lager. Stick to their other stuff.

Ratings: Pete - 3 Shyoh's

Trillium Permutation Series #58
Imperial IPA - 8.8% ABV

Awesome, per usual. Creamy and piney IPA going down that finishes almost like orange juice.

Ratings: Pete - 5 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Permutation Series #61
Imperial IPA - 9.3% ABV
Pete
Definitely much closer to a traditional IPA than most of Trillium's offerings, and a great take on it. Spicy and maybe even a little malty up front along with citrus (mostly) and pine hoppy flavors, with a little bitterness in the finish. Alcohol is well-hidden.

Ratings: Pete - 5 Shyoh's

Picture
Trillium Permutation Series #69
Imperial Stout - 14.4% ABV
Pete
Definitely taste vanilla and peanut butter, not so much coffee. Finishes boozy and bourbon-y. I had it with apple pie and vanilla ice cream, which was a great combo for the flavors in this beer. Outrageously good, and quite expensive.

Ratings: Pete - 6 Shyoh's

Trillium Permutation Series #75

Fruity and delicious with a little bit of bitterness. Doesn't really taste Belgian, but that's fine, it's damn good.
