Mast Landing Brewing Co.

Westbrook, ME
Pete - Went here on a Friday around 6pm - it's only open until 8. They offer small and large pours, and have beer to go. They have a food truck in a fairly large outdoor area, and a smaller area of seating inside. It's not quite in Portland, but it is right in the middle of Westbrook, with a fair amount of action around it. To be honest, I was extremely inebriated when I arrived, so many details were lost on me.

Mast Landing All The Way Up: Strawberry Raspberry
Sour - 4.8% ABV

A little tart and pretty fruity; quite good. My criticism is with the lactose. The amount is kind of in limbo. There's too much for this to be just a pure fruity sour, but not enough to make it milkshake-y. Still great, but I want to have this with no lactose, and again with significantly more to compare - I expect both will be unreal.

Mast Landing Arizona Sun
Imperial New England IPA - 8.1% ABV

This is a textbook NEIPA. It's got creaminess and a wide array of citrus flavors without anything specific standing out. Awesome.

Pretty creamy with a mild citrusy flavor. Very drinkable, even after having numerous beers (see photo).

Collaboration with Aslin. Lots of coconut. Too much for me, but still drinkable, unlike some other coconut beers I've had.

A little creamy, a little citrus. Pretty mild - definitely an easy-drinker.

Mast Landing DASH
American IPA - 7% ABV
Pete
Super citrusy IPA with just a 'dash' of peppery-ness to it. Easy to drink and a ton of flavor, yet still a somewhat approachable ABV. Excellent.

Citrusy, peppery, a little sweet, and maybe a hint of coconut. Damn good IPA with a lot of depth of flavor.

Mast Landing Electric Skies
Imperial IPA - 8% ABV

This is pretty tropical and tastes OK at first. As I drank it, the coconut flavor from the sabro came through more and more. This is most definitely not for me, but others may like it.

Mast Landing Extra Wavy Days
Imperial New England IPA - 8.1% ABV

A little citrusy but quite boozy. Some zestiness in the finish. Gets better as it warms and the booze hides a little better.

Mast Landing Front Flips
New England IPA - 6.1% ABV

Incredible IPA. A touch of dank from the Simcoe hops, but dominated by strong citrus flavors, and an impressive amount of them given the single IPA style.

Pretty tasty, very floral, IPA. Obviously I had this while watching Vinny and Pauly D (try to) find love.

Mast Landing Gunner's Daughter
Milk Stout - 5.5% ABV
Pete
Probably the best non-imperial stout I've ever had (as of 3/29/19). So much flavor in an approachable beer. It tastes like the leftover milk after eating cocoa pebbles. Unreal.

Mast Landing How's Yer Capacity Now?
Imperial New England IPA - 8.5% ABV
Pete
A tad too sweet and a crazy amount of sediment that makes it off-putting.

Pretty dank with a background of citrus that gives it a depth of flavor. Really darn good IPA.

Mast Landing Neon Sails
IPA - 6.3% ABV
Pete
Very light body with mellow citrus flavors. This is a good beer to have after a long day of work (or a round of golf) - it won't overwhelm you, but you'll enjoy it.

Mast Landing On A Mountain in The Clouds

A little creamy with a nice lemon flavor - incredibly drinkable. Tons of flavor, especially given the amount of alcohol.

Very hoppy flavor but not bitter. Nice piney flavor that doesn't stick around very long after putting it down.

Super, super creamy - almost pillowy. Other flavors get lost, but it's still solid.

Everything you can ask from in this style. Creamy, zero bitterness, a hint of peppery, and a ton of tropical fruit. Delicious.
