Goose Island Beer Company

Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Stout 2013
Imperial Stout - 14.9% ABV
Pete
This series is extremely hyped, and this was my first. It lived up to it for sure. Super dark and rich with maple, caramel, and subtle booziness. Worth paying whatever it costs (likely a lot), though the extremely high price tag keeps it from getting a perfect rating from me.

Outrageously good. So many flavors. The description has it right: oak, chocolate, vanilla, caramel, and smoke. All of those are there and noticeable. It's a tad sweeter than the 2013 version, and definitely different, but equally good. Much like that one, the only thing keeping this from a perfect rating is the price tag.

Goose Island Christmas Ale
Winter Ale - 7.3% ABV
Pete
This is a below average flavor winter beer, but it packs a little bit of a punch, so I'll give it a pass for that.

Winter Ale - 7.7% ABV

This one is quite bad. It's too sweet maybe, too malty? I don't know, it's just bad. If I hadn't had a few before this one, I probably would have dumped it out, and I've done that to maybe 4 beers before in my life.

Goose Island Gillian
Sour Saison - 9.5% ABV
Pete
This is an incredible beer. It has a perfect balance of fruit, sour, and spiciness. There isn't a specific flavor that stands out, but they work together so well. This is more sour than saison.

Goose Island Honker's Ale
English Bitter - 4.3% ABV

There is nothing horribly wrong with this beer, but there isn't enough alcohol and/or flavor to justify spending more than I would on a Keystone Light.

Goose Island India Pale Ale
IPA - 5.9% ABV

A pretty good, generic IPA. I would like a little more of the hop flavor/aroma.

Goose Island Lolita
Wild Ale - 8.7% ABV

Medium sourness, a little maltiness, and a touch of fruitiness. It's not really funky at all. Really good beer.

Goose Island Madame Rose
Sour - 7% ABV

This is a great sour. It is pretty fruity at first (raspberry or strawberry, maybe both, not sure), and finishes very sour.

This is terrible. I honestly thought that they gave me Bud Light instead of Goose IPA. Nope, just Goose summer, brutal. Paying craft beer prices for this is just absurd.

Goose Island Urban Wheat
Wheat - 4.2% ABV

This is a pretty good beer. It almost tastes like a Belgian Wit, but it is a bit more mellow.
