Goodfire Brewing Company

Portland, ME
Pete - Went here in the early afternoon on a Thursday in the summer 2019 as the first stop on my bachelor party. It was still a very new brewery. They have a smallish taproom, including a 2nd room in the back, and a little bit of outdoor space. They're also right next to Lone Pine. They do not offer flights, but they have 6 ounce pours, and a few cans to go. Staff was very friendly, and the beer was excellent. I will definitely be back. Update: I have now been here 3 times as of 11/27/23, including for a welcome party for a wedding. It continues to be excellent.

Goodfire Ack Ack Ack!
American Pale Ale - 5.2% ABV

Super dank and grassy, in the best way. I love that, but not everyone does. Make sure you do before you order this.

Ratings: Pete - 6 Shyoh's

Goodfire CMYK
New England IPA - 6% ABV
Pete
Pretty piney, a tiny bit dank, and a little citrus. Definitely dominated by the piney-ness. Excellent.

Goodfire Hydro
Imperial New England IPA - 7.8% ABV

Tastes exactly like Prime. Since I loved that, no complaints about that flavor, just wish I had them separated.

Goodfire Iota
Blonde - 4.8% ABV

Pictured on the left. Quite peppery and grassy, which is pretty impressive in a beer with this low ABV. Damn good.

Goodfire Light Sway
New Zealand IPA - 7% ABV

Very dank, yet easy to drink. I love a good NZ beer.

Goodfire Moon Jellies
Imperial Sour - 7% ABV

Raspberry and passion fruit are two of my favorites, and they both come through in this one in a big way with a pretty even balance of tart and fruity, and a hint of saltiness in the background. Awesome beer.

Goodfire Prime
New England IPA - 6.5% ABV
Pete
Super creamy and citrusy going down with a lightness to it as you put it down, making it dangerously easy to drink.

Sour - 7% ABV

Tart, fruity, pretty darn thick - excellent.

Goodfire Thunder Sloth
Imperial New England IPA - 8.2% ABV

Pretty dank at first, presumably due to the Phantasm (whatever that is). Some zesty citrus also comes in to balance the dankness, but this is definitely a dank IPA first, so come prepared for that.

Goodfire Waves
New England IPA - 7.2% ABV
Pete
Dry and citrusy and finishes a touch boozy. Pretty good, but won't blow you away.

Ratings: Pete - 4 Shyoh's

Goodfire Yugen
New England IPA - 6.7% ABV

Pictured on the left. It tastes a bit malty, which is not at all what I was expecting in this style/color of beer, but it's just enough to be a nice balancing addition. Finishes pretty earthy.
