Earth Eagle Brewings

Portsmouth, NH

Earth Eagle Brown Klown Brown
Gruit - 7.6% ABV

This is awesome. The best way I can describe it is sour and herbaceous. See below for gruit definition. Sounds like this brewery has the style down. I'm not against it.

Earth Eagle Chocolate Monk
Belgian Stout - 6.3% ABV
Pete
Pictured top left. It's definitely a chocolatey beer, and it's quite a bit lighter than your standard stout. Pretty good.

I had never had anything like this, and it's a damn good drink (doesn't really taste like any beer I've had, so hard to call it that). This is like a really flavorful tea, maybe. It's got a hint of sour to it, I think. Smells like herbs. Whatever it is, it tastes really damn good and is very different. This is what I read online about the style: "These ancient ales may be highly intoxicating and aphrodisiacal when consumed in significant quantity. Historically, it has been said to stimulate the mind, create euphoria, and enhance sexual drive." I'll let you judge.

Earth Eagle Half Jack
Session IPA - 4.1% ABV
Pete
It's definitely not bitter. Not a bad beer, just doesn't have a ton of flavor. A hint of floral notes in it if you really think about it. Obviously I wanted more flavor, but it's certainly easy to drink.

Earth Eagle New England Gangsta'
IPA - 6.5% ABV
Pete
Pictured back middle (of the first 6). Very piney, super crisp IPA that stays with you for a few seconds after you put it down, then abruptly disappears completely from your palate. The flavor is great and that disappearing act makes you want more.

Earth Eagle Puca
Pumpkin Porter - 7.1% ABV
Pete
Pictured front middle. There's a lot going on when you drink this beer. First, you get some spices, then the flavors you might expect from a porter. Finally, you get some spiciness in the finish. Also, somehow you get a little bit a pumpkin throughout.

Gruit - 5.8% ABV

Pictured top right. This beer is pretty squanchy. A little sweet with a ton of herb flavor.

Earth Eagle Sonny's Disposition
Saison - 6.2% ABV
Pete
Pictured front right. Awesome beer. I would describe it as a dry saison with some extra herbaceous-ness on top of the spiciness you'd expect from the style (you'll know what I mean if you taste it). It's quite good, hard to describe.

Earth Eagle Vinni Gallows
Gruit - 6.3% ABV

Pictured front left. Very good beer. It's pretty mild, a little bit sour, and a little bit herby. Definitely different from most.
