Clown Shoes Beer

Boston, MA (This is page 2. See pages 1 and 3.)

Clown Shoes Crasher In The Rye 2017
Imperial Stout - 11.5% ABV

Great beer. Dark chocolate dominates the flavor with some spiciness from the bourbon aging. It's described as an oatmeal milk stout, but I don't really get either of the defining characteristics of those (creaminess and sweetness, respectively). Still, great flavorful, complex beer.

New England IPA - 6.75% ABV

Definitely a citrusy IPA. It leans toward the sweet side, as if it was much higher alcohol content, but still good.

This was described to me on a beer menu much different than it tasted. I drank this at 11am after a LONG night of drinking, just because I couldn't not get a beer with such a great list. I expected any beer I got to take forever to drink. However, this went down very fast (maybe a little too fast). It was a nice, mildly bitter beer with a hoppy aftertaste and a hint of sweetness that doesn't hit you until a few seconds after putting it down.

Clown Shoes Galactica
Imperial IPA - 8% ABV

A little malty going down then pretty bitter in the finish. They balance each other out a bit, not bad.

Imperial Pumpkin Stout - 10% ABV

Pictured on the right. I read imperial pumpkin stout with oats aged in bourbon barrels, and I was definitely sold on the description. It didn't live up to that though. It's mostly just bourbon flavor, not much pumpkin or even stout flavor coming through. Still, I like bourbon.

Clown Shoes Hoppy Feet 2.0
Black IPA - 10% ABV

This was pretty good. I was hoping for a bit more flavor. It was mellow richness and hints of hops, which still is pretty good. It also hides the booze pretty well.

Clown Shoes Josh The Guava King
Imperial IPA - 7.4% ABV

IPA that's a little bit fruity with a bit of a dry finish. It's not bad, but definitely not worth paying a premium for.

Clown Shoes Leaving Atlantis
American IPA - 7% ABV

Collaboration with Mean Sardine (haven't had any of those as of 9/17/19). It's a solid IPA that leans toward the malty side. Very drinkable.

Tripel - 10.5% ABV

Pretty outstanding tripel. It has a hint of hops on top of the perfection of a tripel.

Imperial Stout - 12.5% ABV

Smells and tastes like maple syrup. No idea how there is booze in there.
