21st Amendment Brewery

San Francisco, CA

21st Amendment A Terrible Idea
New England IPA - 6.8% ABV
Pete
Collaboration with Fieldwork. It's exactly what I expected, which was a delicious hazy and citrusy beer that's not bitter at all. The flavor is fairly mellow, so it gets a little overwhelmed by food, but it's delicious.

IPA - 6.8% ABV
Pete
This is a very drinkable black IPA. It hides the alcohol well.

Imperial IPA - 8% ABV

     Tastes like it sounds.

21st Amendment Brew Free Or Die IPA
IPA - 7% ABV

My notes on this one were as follows: "ew". That is not a good sign, but I did manage to finish it, and it's a cool can.

Winter Beer - 7.9% ABV
Pete
This is an outstanding beer. It's tough to describe the flavor. It's almost like a brown ale, but with plenty of spices that you'd think of for a winter meal. This is what winter beers should be.

21st Amendment Hell or High Mango
Fruit Beer - 4.9% ABV

     Light and mango-y. Pretty nice.

21st Amendment Hell Or High Watermelon
Fruit Beer - 4.9% ABV
Pete
This is a pretty great beer for summer. It's not too overpowering, but it is smooth and the hint of watermelon flavor gives it a nice freshness. It is perfect for drinking outside while playing Kanjam.

21st Amendment Hop Crisis
Imperial IPA - 9.7% ABV
Pete
This one has a surprisingly nice sweet flavor going down, and it also has a bitter aftertaste that lingers with you for a long time, which is what you'd expect from an imperial IPA. When you think about it, you'd probably rather have that overly bitter finish than the in-your-face flavor of a 9.7% alchohol beer that isn't balanced enough.

21st Amendment Marooned On Hog Island
Stout - 7.9% ABV
Pete
This is a pretty good tasting beer, but the smell wasn't too great, so I can't give it too good of a rating.

21st Amendment Sneak Attack
Saison - 6.2% ABV
Pete
This is pretty good, but it could use a little more flavor. I expect something pretty bold and spicy from a saison, and this had some of that, but not nearly enough.

21st Amendment Toaster Pastry
Red IPA - 7.6% ABV
Pete
This is kind of a deceiving style. I didn't really taste the sweetness of the red (good because I'm not a huge fan of those), and it wasn't very bitter either, as I'd expect from an IPA (especially with the level of IBU on this one). However, it certainly looks red, and you can definitely taste the hops. This was very good, and I needed it to be when I ordered it for hair of the dog purposes at 11am on a Saturday.

21st Amendment Watermelon Funk
Sour - 6.7% ABV

Tiny hint of watermelon flavor and very obviously a Brett beer. If you don't know what that means, try this one and use it to determine whether you like that or not.
