Southern Pacific Brewing

San Francisco, CA
Pete - This brewpub in downtown SF can be a bit of a scene. I went on a Friday night around 9, and it was very packed, though I had no issues getting in. They serve everything from flights to pitchers. The big highlight is you can just get a tray flight of 10 different beers to just try them all in small sample sizes (see pictures). The beers are all fairly generic, but still worth trying. They also offer other beers and food that was pretty good.

Southern Pacific Amber Ale
Amber Ale - 5.5% ABV
Pete
Pretty good amber ale. It's got a nice malty flavor, and I don't even really like this style. Pictured right in the middle of the tray.

Southern Pacific California Blonde
Golden Ale - 5.2% ABV
Pete
Pretty plain, not a ton of flavor, but it's refreshing and drinkable.

Southern Pacific Extra IPA
Imperial IPA - ?% ABV
Pete
Pretty generic IPA. Given that it's an imperial, it's probably strong, and you definitely won't notice that, so that's good. Pictured at 11 o'clock.

Picture
Southern Pacific Hefeweizen
Hefeweizen - 6.9% ABV
Pete
This was an oddly sweet hefe. I'm not used to much flavor in this style, and it was not a pleasant addition. Pictured at 4:30.

Southern Pacific IPA
IPA - 5.8% ABV
Pete
Solid IPA with a hint of spice to it. Pictured at 10 o'clock.

Southen Pacific Ivy Green IPA
Imperial IPA - 8.7% ABV
Pete
Solid IPA with a little spiciness, also hides the booze well. Pictured at 12:30.

Ratings: Pete - 4 Shyoh's

Picture
Southern Pacific Kölsch
Kölsch - 5.5% ABV
Pete
Not a lot of flavor here, and you definitely don't want to let it get even a hint of warm, as it becomes just awful in that state. Pictured at 3 o'clock.

Southern Pacific Mexican Dark Lager
Dark Lager - ?% ABV
Pete
Tastes like a pretty standard dunkelweizen, and I like those, so this is good. Pictured at 6 o'clock.

Southern Pacific Pale Ale
Pale Ale - 5.4% ABV
Pete
Pretty generic pale ale. Easy to drink, a little hoppiness but not a lot. Pictured at 7:30.

Ratings: Pete - 4 Shyoh's

Southern Pacific Saison
Saison - 7.5% ABV
Pete
You get maybe a hint of spice with this, but it's extremely mild for a saison. Still, nothing wrong with it. Pictured at 9 o'clock.
