Mile Wide Beer Company

Louisville, KY
Pete - I went here at 6pm on a Saturday for their 2nd anniversary party and I've been here another time. Really cool place. It has a warehouse vibe, but on purpose. Quite large, with a big rectangular bar in the middle of a room with tons of seating - mostly picnic tables. Small private patio outside. Their beers are great, and you have a nice view of the brewing area. They also have a bunch of games in the back, from board games to pinball. They sell beer to go as well as full and half pours of drafts on site.

Brewed for their 2nd anniversary, it's billed as "where IPA meets champagne". It's quite good. A little dry with some extra carbonation, kind of exactly what you'd expect if you were to mesh the two. Super drinkable.

Mile Wide Bi-Coastal
IPA - 7% ABV

This is supposedly a combo of a New England and a west coast IPA. Works really well. Tropical fruitiness up front with a mild piney bitter background.

Imperial New England IPA - 8% ABV

Pictured on the left. Very dank with a dry finish. Almost bracing going down (in a good way) but the finish keeps you coming back for more.

I picked this off the menu at the chicken place (highly recommend if you're ever in Louisville) just because it had the coolest name and sounded like it would involve hops. Turns out I made a great choice. Tropical citrus bomb that went amazingly well with my hot chicken. Within 5 minutes of getting this, I had made plans to visit the brewery the next day.

This beer is just OK. I can't really pinpoint what I don't love about it, but it's definitely something.

Collaboration with Heaven (haven't had any of those as of 10/12/23). This beer has lime creamsicle vibes to it, with an extra dry finish. Really hard to not drink this fast.

As you might expect from a beer with loads of cranberry and some lemon, this is extremely tart, and I love that.

Very nice toasted nutty brown. Great name, especially considering the label has King Kong on it. 'Leroy Brown'.

Excellent beer. Sweet going down but a dark chocolate bitterness in the finish. That, plus this is an amazing name for a milk stout. If you don't know why, you should watch Always Sunny.

Pictured on the right. This is just a vanilla milkshake with a hoppy finish. That works really well for me.

Definitely a hit on the NEIPA style. And what could be a better name for a New England beer? Creamy going down, no bitterness, finishes dry.

Really sour. A tiny bit of fruitiness, but this is mostly just an in-your-face sour. I love it.

The flavors of a New England IPA are all there, and they are delicious. Tropical fruitiness is obvious, but the flavor isn't super strong. Enjoy it without food (or with bland food), or it will be overpowered.
