Hudson Valley Brewery

Beacon, NY

Hudson Valley Amorphia
Sour IPA - 6% ABV

Damn good. Lots of strawberry. Fairly tart and a little bit sweet. I do not taste the vanilla that's supposedly in this, which is probably for the best, as the other flavors are all great.

Delicious. Tart blueberry flavor and finishes with the hibiscus. Doesn't taste IPA-y at all, but that's fine with me.

This is unreal. Tart, blueberry, and a little funky and oaky.

If I didn't know this was blood orange, I'd say it was grapefruit. I mean, look at it. Either way, this is freaking delicious. Like a grapefruit (apparently blood orange) smoothie.

Unreal beer. Pretty tart with lots of lemon up front. The orange comes through in the finish to give you a little sweetness to balance it. Definitely more tart than sweet.

Tart mango going down with a vanilla finish. Can't argue with that. Delicious and refreshing.

Tart and funky and a little citrusy from the hops. Dangerously drinkable.

This sounds like it's going to be weird. Sour IPA with oats, maple syrup, and blueberry? I honestly would not have gotten this if the brewery didn't come highly recommended, but I'm very glad I did. Tart and highly carbonated at first, and then somehow finishes like blueberry pancakes.

Hudson Valley Pastiche II
Sour IPA - 7% ABV

Solid, but a little too heavy on the vanilla, especially for a big pour beer.

Pretty mild flavor. Something about it put me off. It's dry and a little bitter, but it's like it's not committed to that profile. Wanted more tart, or more sweet.

Hudson Valley Purelake Riesling
Sour IPA - 7% ABV
Pete
Pretty tart and definitely a wine-like quality to it. I think the sweeter Riesling grapes really rounded this out well even though it comes off more tart than sweet. It paired perfectly with the Thai curry veggie pizza.

This is dangerous. Fruitiness from blueberry, and tartness from lemon. It even has a slight thickness that makes it a tiny bit smoothie-like. Indescribably good (I tried).

This is awesome. Lots of blackberry, fairly sweet, and a little bit of tartness. Way more fruit/sour beer than IPA.
