Great Notion Brewing

Portland, OR

Picture
Great Notion Apricult
Sour IPA - 7.8% ABV
Pete
Collaboration with Brujos (haven't had any of those as of 2/21/20). This is super drinkable. Apricot is obvious, with a hint of saltiness in there. I don't get much IPA flavor as it's hidden by the apricot.

Great Notion Double Stack
Imperial Stout - 11% ABV
Pete
This literally tastes like pancakes. Maple along with a richness that's almost like a meal.

Ratings: Pete - 6 Shyoh's

Great Notion Jammy Pants
Fruited Sour - 7% ABV
Pete
This definitely tastes like raspberry, although there isn't actually any of it in there. Fairly mild, but delicious - more fruity than sour.

Great Notion JB DIPA
Imperial New England IPA - 8.2% ABV
Pete
Exactly what you want from a NEIPA. Huge citrus flavor, a little creaminess. It does have a tiny hint of bitterness, which you wouldn't normally expect, but it works incredibly well. Pretty peachy.

Great Notion JUMBO: Marshmallow & Pecans
Imperial Pastry Stout - 13.5% ABV
Pete
Super sweet with tons of marshmallow flavor. The pecans don't really come through much, if at all.

Ratings: Pete - 4 Shyoh's

Great Notion Super Duper Over Ripe
Imperial New England IPA - 11% ABV
Pete
There's just no way this is actually 11%. Dry and fruity with a touch of peppery, but not super sweet like most IPA's at this level.
