Brouwerij De Ranke

Mouscron, Belgium

Picture
De Ranke Franc Belge
Belgian Pale Ale - 5.2% ABV
Pete
A touch malty, a tiny hint of bitterness, and a very obvious "Belgian-ness" to it. Good flavor, on the mild side.

Ratings: Pete - 4 Shyoh's

De Ranke Guldenberg
Tripel - 8% ABV
Pete
Not what I was expecting. It's pretty Belgian-tasting but also has a good amount of funk to it, which I don't love.

Ratings: Pete - 4 Shyoh's

De Ranke Père Noël
Belgian Pale Ale - 7% ABV
Pete
Very tasty. Obvious Belgian flavor, a spiciness that makes sense for a Christmas ale, to go along with some subtle maltiness and bitter flavors.

Ratings: Pete - 5 Shyoh's

De Ranke XX Bitter
Belgian Blonde - 6% ABV
Pete
This is a pretty bitter beer that just plain tastes Belgian. If you've had a bunch of Belgian beers (tripels, saisons, anything else with 'Belgian' in the style), you'll know what I mean as soon as you taste it. So, if you like Belgians, you'll like this one. I happen to love Belgians, so this went down quite fast.

Ratings: Pete - 6 Shyoh's
