Citizen Cider

Burlington, VT
Pete - Citizen Cider has a taproom where you can get drinks. They offer flights (pretty cheap) and have food (the corn dog was delicious). They also have other local beers on tap in addition to their own cider, as well as cocktails (they will let you mix any of their ciders with whiskey), so it works for a variety of drinkers. You can also pick up ciders to go. I went on a summer Saturday around 2pm, and there was plenty of space to sit, including at the bar. It does get very crowded on weekend nights.

Pretty mild cider. It doesn't overwhelm with sweetness. I didn't really taste/smell the hops, but I'm sure they contribute to it not seeming so sweet. Pictured 2nd from the right.

Really good cider. I thought this was going to be a sour cider, but apparently "sour cherry cider" really just means cider that is mild on the sweetness side and tastes like sour cherries. It doesn't really make you pucker up, but it's still very good. It's the reddish one in the picture.

A hint of salt in this cider really balances it well. It almost reminds me of a nice mild gose, except it's mildly fruity instead of mildly sour. Pictured all the way on the left.

Supposedly supposed to be like a gose-style beer. I don't really get that, but it's still an excellent dry cider.

This is a pretty standard cider. Extremely easy to drink.

This is like a ginger beer that finishes dry. That's a great combo, because usually ginger beer is way too sweet. Pictured on the right.

It smells like hops, tastes a little bit sweet going down, then leaves you with the hops in the finish. I don't always like hopped ciders, but this one works well. Pictured in the middle.

Pretty dry cider. Good amount of flavor without being overwhelmingly sweet.

This is a very good dry cider. Very drinkable, and you can have a bunch since it isn't too sweet.
