Channel Marker Brewing

Beverly, MA

Channel Marker Buoy Tree
Imperial New England IPA - 8% ABV

This is a great combination of earthiness and lemon flavors going down, and a hint of bitterness in the finish rounds it out. Great beer.

Collaboration with Buttonwoods (haven't had any of those as of 6/3/21). This is a damn good beer, exactly what you expect from the style. Hazy without any bitterness. The flavor is great also, although it's a bit hard to pinpoint anything specific as a lot of different hops were used in this beer.

New England IPA - 7.6% ABV

Really drinkable balanced IPA. Not your standard NEIPA. It's got a touch of lemon, a little bitterness, a hint of malt, and a piney finish. Not what I was expecting, but very delicious.

I'm not familiar with the nectaron hop, but whatever it is, it worked well with mosaic and nelson. The result is a super creamy beer that's pretty darn grassy without being too dank. Given mosaic and nelson can be pretty dank, I'm guessing the nectaron is more on the citrus end to balance those. Excellent beer.

Collaboration with River Styx. This is delicious. Fruity, salty, and sour all come together nicely. The marshmallow is a little too much. I'm not sure if I'd prefer this beer without it, or just with less of it, but it's still great.

There's a lot going on in the ingredients list of this beer. Fruits, marshmallow, and jelly beans(?). The marshmallow is subtle fortunately, but it's definitely there. Tiny hint of tartness, but this is definitely a beer dominated by mango, and it's hard to go wrong there. The picture doesn't really do it justice, as it looks much bluer in person. That means it has extra anti-oxygens.

Channel Marker Siren w/Black Currants and Guava
Sour - 6% ABV

Yum. Love the color, love the high sourness level, and anything with guava gets me. I couldn't tell you what black currants taste like before, but I'm sure it's that other fruity thing that I taste in this.

Awesome. Tiny bit of funk to go along with plenty of fruitiness and tons of tart (more so than other versions I've had, likely because these fruits are tart). Another winner in the Siren series.

Sour - 6% ABV

This is incredible. Strawberry at first, then tons of guava and a medium amount of sourness. A touch of creaminess and a tiny hint of salt round out the flavor.

Imperial IPA - 8% ABV

A little bit of bitterness, a tiny hint of earthy/dank, and a good amount of citrus make this a nicely balanced IPA.
