Captain Lawrence Brewing

Elmsford, NY

Picture
Captain Lawrence Double Pull
Imperial Stout - 10.5% ABV
Pete
Ridiculously dark stout. Coffee and a little bitterness provide some depth to a beer dominated by its dark roastiness.

Ratings: Pete - 5 Shyoh's

Captain Lawrence Effortless Grapefruit
Session IPA - 4.5% ABV
Pete
This has quite a bit of grapefruit flavor, as well as tasting equally bitter to eating grapefruit. It overpowers any hop flavor for sure, but hey, grapefruit is good.

Ratings: Pete - 4 Shyoh's

Captain Lawrence Jam Juice
New England IPA - 8% ABV
Pete
A little more bitterness than you expect from the style (AKA, there is a little bitterness to it), but there's plenty of citrus and, fortunately, the bitterness was necessary with all those meats in the photo.

Ratings: Pete - 5 Shyoh's

Captain Lawrence Liquid Gold
Belgian Pale Ale - 6% ABV
Pete
This is a solid beer. It has a nice spiciness from the Belgian style, but definitely didn't blow me away.

Ratings: Pete - 4 Shyoh's

Captain Lawrence Palate Shifter
Imperial IPA - 9% ABV
Pete
This is a pretty bitter IPA. It has some good hoppy flavor if you can get past the bitterness though.

Ratings: Pete - 4 Shyoh's

Captain Lawrence Tropigose
Gose - 4% ABV
Pete
This is a pretty mild sour that goes down easy. Almost more fruity than sour.
