Berkshire Brewing Company (BBC)

South Deerfield, MA

Berkshire Black IPA - Brewer's Series #1
Black IPA - 5% ABV
Pete
This tastes a bizarre combination of smokey and hoppy. Both flavors by themselves work great, but together leave something to be desired. It's not quite lamb and tuna fish.

Berkshire Coffeehouse Porter
Porter - 6.2% ABV
Pete
This is a very good beer. It has a nice mix of chocolate malty and coffee flavors. It is a little over-carbonated for my taste though, which takes away from the flavor a little bit. That being said, I'd still recommend going out and finding this one.

Berkshire Green Gown Double IPA
Imperial IPA - 8.5% ABV
Pete
Solid crisp, piney IPA. You'd have no idea this was so strong. Not super bitter, maybe a hint of citrus, very easy to drink, which is a bit dangerous.

Berkshire Hoosac Tunnel Amber Ale
Amber Ale - 6.3% ABV
Pete
Not my favorite style, and this is pretty generic within it. It's got malty sweetness, but it's just not something I enjoy in this style.

Berkshire Inhopnito
IPA - 6.2% ABV
Pete
Delicious crisp and citrusy IPA. Worked great with spicy food.

Berkshire Lost Sailor IPA
IPA - 5.5% ABV
Pete
This is a very good IPA. It is a little different in that there is a prevailing malty flavor that outweighs (but doesn't overpower) the hops. Very enjoyable.

Berkshire Shabadoo Black and Tan Ale
Black & Tan - 6.3% ABV
Pete
This is very solid. It has the flavors of both sides of the aisle. Dark roasted flavor from the 'black', with some caramel and even a hint of hops from the 'tan'. It had all the flavors I wanted, but just wasn't bold enough to really put it over the edge. That said, must try.

Berkshire Steel Rail Extra Pale Ale
Pale Ale - 5.3% ABV
Pete
This is a very popular beer, but I just am not a fan. This is on the level of Dale's Pale Ale for me vs. everyone else, except this isn't nearly as popular as that.

Berkshire The Russian
Russian Imperial Stout - 8.7% ABV
Pete
Really tasty. Not as rich and thick as you might expect from this style, making it a bit more drinkable. Super chocolatey. I will say that I ordered this at noon, expecting like an 8-10 ounce pour, and it was a 22 ounce bottle. That made for a good start to the day.

Berkshire Weave Got Hops Sabro
New England IPA - 7.5% ABV
Pete
This is clearly a solid beer, but I just don't like Sabro hops. As an accent, I can handle it, but it's way too coconutty to be the primary hop.
