Many moons ago, in ancient New England, the great Babe Ruth was munching down a few dogs and slugging back some cold ones between innings of a game against the Providence Grays. As he ate, one of the dogs became lodged in his wind pipe and he coughed violently to regurgitate the lodged wiener. He proceeded to project half a hot dog that landed in his full cup of beer perched approximately 8ft away. Still trying to catch his breath, Babe pointed to the beer and commanded in a thick Boston accent, “Bee’ Rook” (translates to “Beer Rookie”). However, a reporter on the scene thought he said “Beirut”, and the game was born.
